Functional Lab Testing
Have you ever gone to your doctor and heard that “everything is normal”, but you know something is not right? That’s when it’s time to take things a step further. Functional lab testing looks at more specific markers with more sensitive reference ranges. These labs focus on early detection and root causes.
As a Registered Dietitian, I will write a personalized order for you to take your local phlebotomist for a draw. The results take approximately 2-3 weeks to return to the practitioner. Once completed, you will be notified to set up a 15-minute complimentary review.
Please note, all prices listed below are dependent on an HMO or PPO insurance (you will not be billed more than these prices, no matter what your deductible). Please reach out for alternative pricing without those insurance plans.
To receive an order for personalized labs, please fill out the application form below. Based on your answers, I may recommend additional labs.
A baseline Micronutrient test is recommend one to two times per year. The Micronutrient test provides the most comprehensive nutritional analysis available by measuring functional deficiencies at the cellular level. It is an assessment of how well the body utilizes 33 vitamins, minerals, amino/fatty acids, antioxidants, and metabolites within our white blood cells. This test provides the basis of a personalized, functional approach in addressing a broad variety of clinical conditions including arthritis, cancer, cardiovascular risk, diabetes, various immunological disorders, metabolic disorders and micronutrient deficiencies.
The CardioMetabolic test offers a clinically relevant evaluation to help define risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), progression toward Type 2 Diabetes, and inflammation. It includes an Advanced Lipoprotein Particle Profile® Plus (LPP® Plus), which measures lipoprotein size and density; cardiovascular risk stratification; and also includes triglycerides and traditional cholesterol screening. You are then assigned a CardioMetabolic Risk Assessment, which is an indication of your risk (Low, Moderate or High) for developing cardiovascular disease, including stroke and diabetes. In addition, the Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment is an estimate of your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. The CardioMetabolic test also includes OmegaCheck®, which measures the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids in one’s blood. The higher the content of omega -3 fatty acids, the lower the risk of a fatal heart attack and other inflammatory conditions.
